About Me

Hello, my name is Thor Arisland and I’m a Software Developer currently living in Uppsala, Sweden.
In addition to working as a programmer within ICT, I like working with visual design, music production and sound design using mainly electronic instruments.
Since early 2017 I’ve released several fonts on DaFont and produced public domain music for OpenGameart where several of my tracks have been used in indie games.
In short, my talents and interests mainly revolve around three themes:
- Computers and technology
- Graphic design and illustration
- Music and sound design
In my late twenties I found out I needed to find a way to combine my interests to create what Scott Adams refers to as a “talent stack”, because of this I find it best to work on projects that leverages at least two of my competencies.
For programming for example, I like to focus on creating GUI, graphics and music applications.
When working with design, I prefer to leverage my programming experience by using modules and scripting as much as possible.
When composing music, I focus a lot on programming synthesizers and designing electronic soundscapes from the ground up.
Working on game projects seem to offer the best of both worlds for all these interests, but as of yet, I’ve found that I can create the most value to others by designing fonts which is why I try to put as much effort as I can toward just that.
While most of my fonts, designs and productions are available on this site, I also have profiles on the following sites.
For questions or feedback on anything I’ve created, feel free to contact me using the contact form here.
